Tumescent Liposuction

This advanced method minimizes post-operative pain, swelling, and bruising by reducing the amount of blood loss associated with the procedure. To begin tumescent liposuction, Dr. Soberanes injects a liquid into the targeted areas. This liquid causes the fat deposits to swell and harden, which allows the cannula, a surgical tube connected to a suction device, to move smoothly underneath the skin.
The cannula is used at our office near San Diego to remove fat deposits during liposuction. Tijuana cosmetic surgeon Dr. Sergio Soberanes inserts the cannula into the areas where you have fat deposits, and, moving it back and forth, breaks up the fat cells and suctions them out. Liposuction only requires a few incisions, usually about 3mm long, so there is virtually no noticeable scarring. Most patients are able to resume their normal activities within a week of surgery.
